Sign Of The Beaver is a book about an Indian boy named Attean and white boy named Matt. My class has not finished it yet but my class will watch the movie after we’re done with the book. My teacher is reading it to us all. We’re making signs of the chapters and what happens in them.
I’ll tell you some of the story. Matt and his dad go to Maine to build a log cabin. His dad leaves to get his mom sister and new baby. At one point Matt wants food. He sees a bee hive and try’s to climb the tree and get it the bees ATTACK him and he runs to water. Two Indians named Saknis (or something like that) and his grandson named Attean. Saknis wants Matt to teach Attean to read and say English. They HATE each other but they become friends when Matt reads Robinson Crusoe. They become really good friends. And that’s all I’ll tell you cause you have to find the rest out on your own!
I really love this book, and I hope you do too! I am excited to find out what happened to Matt’s dad and Attean’s dad.
